Prytanium is a small European company working on defence infrastructure. We operate quietly, on a long timescale, at the boundary between software and the physical world.
Defence is a civic discipline before it is a commercial one. The polis kept a hearth in the prytaneion, perpetually lit, tended by those entrusted with its keeping. The discipline was custodial — not heroic. We take the same view.
The technologies that matter most are rarely the loudest ones. They are infrastructural, durable, and difficult to see from the outside. Our work is oriented toward that posture.
We write code that is read more than it is written. We document assumptions. We treat dependencies as liabilities, not features. We assume every input is adversarial until cross-corroborated.
Our work is technical, exacting, and unglamorous.
The defensive paradigms of the previous century were designed against a small number of expensive threats. The conditions of the present century are inverted. The architectures that meet this inversion will be measured in decades. We are building for that interval.
